The Company We Keep
One of my mother’s favourite reminders while I was growing was the Miguel Cervantes quote “Tell me what company you keep and I’ll tell you what you are.”
I couldn’t help thinking about my mother’s wisdom this week as I looked at the first two partner announcements we are posting today. Given that it was just recently Mother’s Day, this is probably quite fitting.
On behalf of the CommunityLend team, I just wanted to note how proud we are to announce some of “the company we keep” as we work towards launching a unique and valuable online lending service for Canadians. We have chosen all of our business and service partners very carefully to ensure that we work with companies who are committed to our market vision and who bring a unique skill set to contribute to our success.
Unspace Interactive: We have been working with Unspace Interactive for almost a year now. They bought into our vision early and have been a major contributor to our success to date. Their commitment to writing elegant code which is people-centric is completely aligned with our design goals. The fact that they exclusively code in a “community-based” program language also fits with our goal to create a community powered financial services company.

Strategic Information Technology (SIT): We have been working with SIT for about 4 months and chose them because of their deep experience in financial services applications and their impressive client base. By integrating into a production system used by some of the biggest brand names in Financial Services today, SIT has allowed us to move our application forward on the shoulders of giants. And when you are small company with big goals, you take all the help you can get.

That’s a little overview of the companies we are working with to help make CommunityLend a success. Stay tuned for more partners to be announced in the coming weeks.
